UTSA places 3rd as a team at Collegiate Nationals, only 1 point behind second & 9 points behid 1st, also finishing as the best team in Texas. Join our team next year to help put us over the top & win Nationals.

Our team competed at the 2009 WABDL Collegiate Nationals and placed 2nd as a team. Jeff Button broke the 165 collegiate national bench record with a 380 lb bench.

November 17, 2008

Six of our team members just finished competing at WABDL Worlds in Las Vegas. Josh Tamayo placed 1st in deadlift. Jed Hussein placed 1st in bench. John Jewett placed 1st in bench, setting a new World Record of 706 lbs in the 220 class. Wes Zunker placed 1st in deadlift. Chris Owens placed 1st in bench, with a huge PR of 560 lbs. Frank Ginez placed 1st in bench with a big PR of 551 and 1st in deadlift. We also had 2 lifters compete at the Longhorn Open in Austin, TX. Both Jaime Gonzales & Lance Gutierrez qualified themselves for USAPL Nationals.
